Brandon Magaña is a combat veteran with honorable service in the Force Reconnaissance community within the Marine Corps from 1998-2006. Since his exit of service, Brandon has worked as a civilian contractor for the US Navy, teaching defensive tactics and combat skills to specialized units. He has logged thousands of instructor hours, and is honored to support the mission of our troops and country by teaching the fighting arts to increase their combat skill-set. Brandon started his formal martial arts training with Charlie Kohler at the San Diego Fight Club in 2004, and has spent the last 15+ years dedicated to teaching, training, and competing in martial arts, and currently holds the rank of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt under Rodrigo Medeiros (Carlson Gracie). He has been responsible for the planning, building, and operations of several successful martial arts academies over the last decade. Brandon and his son are active members of the Baypark/Bayho/Clairemont community where they have lived and operated a martial arts business. His son currently attends Bay Park Elementary and is active in the Tecolote Youth Baseball League.
Seymour Lewis II is originally from Columbia, South Carolina. He started his Jiu-Jitsu journey in Atlanta, GA back in 2011, as a way to stay in shape after college. This quickly blossomed into a full-blown passion, and within two years he moved across the country to further pursue his Jiu-Jitsu training in Southern California. He currently holds the rank of Brown Belt, and is actively competing in a multitude of tournaments with a high level of success.
His love BJJ serves as a constant reminder that with hard work and focus, you can do anything you put your mind to! Jiu-jitsu has helped Seymour with everything from watching his diet, to getting quality sleep, and meditation. He can't wait to share this wonderful martial art that has given him so much!
